Our story concerns the transformation of Esmerelda Pennywise through visitations from powerful Ancient beings. This charming adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol features British folk customs, new arrangements of beloved British folk songs alongside original compositions, and brings a holiday magick of a different stripe to this beloved tale!

Artistic Director - Matthew Ellenwood
Matthew is a co-founder of Terra Mysterium and the troupe’s the Artistic Director. In addition to being an artistic director, Matthew is a voice teacher, musical director, and actor. He is an active member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and has served on the Chicago NATS chapter's board of directors. He is also a member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association), MTEA (Musical Theatre Educators Alliance), ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers), and the Chicago Cabaret Professionals. As a lecturer, he has presented voice and musical theater workshops for universities, professional theatre companies, and the NATS community. He is currently working towards full teacher certification in Estill Voice Training, Alba Method, and Michael Chehkov Technique (through M.I.C.H.A.). He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Masters of Music degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from Northwestern University.
